Key Features of a Cover Letter
1.Proper Opening
Formally address the Advocate and clearly state the purpose of your letter by mentioning the specific internship you are applying for (Physical or Virtual – April 2026). Keep the introduction professional, respectful, and straight forward. Don’t just state that you are applying for the role. Use the first two sentences to show immediate value
You can show your enthusiasm , and also why this internship matters to you (your specific).

2.”Why You” (The Body)
In this paragraph, you should clearly mention your specific area of interest as required in the email body, explain why you wish to intern under that particular Advocate, and state what you aim to learn through the internship, such as practical exposure, drafting skills, research work, court procedures, or client handling experience. You should clearly mention why you stand out different from other candidates , what exceptional or unique abilities do you posses

I am drawn to your organization due to its expertise in handling high-value transactions and advisory matters. My academic focus on taxation and corporate law has equipped me with a strong foundation in statutory interpretation and compliance analysis.
I have experience conducting research on GST provisions and assisting in drafting compliance notes and summaries. I am confident that my analytical ability, structured approach to problem-solving, and commitment to excellence would allow me to add value to your team.
3.Your Skills & Experience
Briefly highlight your relevant skills and experiences, such as any previous internships, legal drafting or research work, and court visit exposure. You may also mention participation in moot courts, publications, or competitions, along with key soft skills like analytical ability, attention to detail, punctuality, and strong work ethic. Keep it concise and directly related to the internship role.

4.Clear Call to Action (The Closing)
Rather than just waiting to be contacted, take a proactive stance by stating that you look forward to the opportunity to discuss your qualifications further in an interview. Finish with a polite sign-off, such as “Sincerely” or “Best Regards ,” followed by your full name, ensuring the letter ends on a note of confidence and readiness.(Tip : The Sign-off: Use “Sincerely,” or “Best Regards,” followed by your full name.)

- Do NOT copy generic templates
