What is the CCI Internship Programme?
The primary objective of the CCI Internship is to familiarize interested and willing students with the provisions and applications of the Competition Act.

CCI Internship Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet the foundational eligibility requirements set by the Commission:
- Nationality: Open to Indian Nationals only.
- Institutional Affiliation: Applicants must be from recognized institutions and universities with exposure to Competition Law.
- No Prior Placement: Students who already have a job placement in hand are not eligible to apply.
Required Educational Qualifications
Students pursuing the following courses are eligible to apply for the CCI internship:

| Regulatory Governance | MA/MSc in Regulatory Governance. |
| Professional Courses | Final group students of Chartered Accountancy (CA), Cost Accountancy, or Company Secretary (CS). |
Scheme of Internship: Duration, Batch Size, and Stipend
1. Duration and Working Hours
The internship normally lasts for one month, commencing on the first working day of the month. However, if you wish to intern for 2 to 3 calendar months, you can apply by submitting a specific recommendation from your university.
As this is a full-time programme, interns must strictly observe the official working hours of the Commission. Unauthorized absences can result in the termination or extension of the internship without pay.
2. Batch Size
Each month, the CCI selects up to 15 interns. This limit may be relaxed if there are more applicants presenting high-quality research topics on Competition Law.
3. CCI Internship Stipend (Honorarium)
Selected interns receive a monthly honorarium of Rs. 15,000/- upon the successful completion of their internship, presentation, and submission of their project report.
Important Rules and Modalities
- Induction & Allocation: Interns undergo a short induction programme on the Competition Act, 2002, on their first day. They are then assigned to various CCI divisions under official supervision.
- Final Presentation: To receive the internship certificate and stipend, every intern must deliver a final presentation on their research work.
- Intellectual Property: The research outcome belongs exclusively to the CCI. Interns cannot use or publish the study without prior written approval.
- Confidentiality: Interns must sign an undertaking promising full confidentiality regarding all internal CCI matters.
Step-by-Step: How to Apply for the CCI Internship
Step 1: Prepare Your Application Components

- The Prescribed Form: Fill out the official application form covering your personal details, academic history, and areas of interest.
- Statement of Purpose (SOP): Write a 200-word SOP outlining your proposed research topic and study objectives. Applications without an SOP will be summarily rejected.
- Institutional Recommendation: Your application must be certified and recommended by a competent authority (Dean/HOD/Principal) from your college, explicitly stating your latest exam marks percentage.
Step 2: Mind the Deadline
Applications must reach the CCI by the 1st day of the preceding month. For example, if you want to intern in December, your application must be submitted by November 1st.
