Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Associate – Fintech & Cross-Border Payments

Glomo Payments IFSC Private Limited is looking to hire a Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Associate to support its legal and regulatory operations in the cross-border payments ecosystem.

Glomo is a cross-border payments firm focused on delivering secure, compliant, and scalable global payment solutions. The company operates as an authorised Payment Services Provider under the IFSCA (Payment Services) Regulations, 2024, with a presence in GIFT IFSC, India.

This role offers a strong opportunity to work on commercial contracts, fintech regulations, and international payment structures while collaborating closely with business, product, and compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Payments & Commercial Contracts

  • Draft, review, and negotiate payments ecosystem agreements including banking partnerships, fintech collaborations, and card schemes.
  • Prepare merchant acquiring, SaaS, API integration, and technology licensing agreements.
  • Handle vendor, outsourcing, and strategic partnership contracts.
  • Develop and standardize contract templates aligned with regulatory requirements.

Regulatory Advisory

  • Provide legal advice on RBI, IFSCA, FEMA, and financial regulatory frameworks.
  • Support regulatory applications and ensure compliance with licensing obligations.
  • Assist in structuring cross-border financial transactions and partnerships.

Product & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Product, Compliance, and Business teams during product development and launches.
  • Review product flows, user journeys, and commercial models from a legal risk perspective.
  • Provide legal guidance for new integrations, features, and ecosystem partnerships.

Governance & Strategic Support

  • Develop internal legal policies and governance frameworks.
  • Coordinate with external counsel on international or specialised matters.
  • Assist with board documentation, investor matters, and strategic transactions.
  • Maintain effective contract management and documentation systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • LL.B. (mandatory); LL.M. preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Experience in Fintech, TMT, or Banking & Finance law.
  • Exposure to payments, financial services, or regulated entities preferred.
  • Experience in cross-border transactions is an added advantage.
