About the Team

As a Senior Associate – Tax, you will work on complex tax advisory matters, including income tax and stamp duty issues in major corporate transactions. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a working knowledge of Indian tax laws. Experience with energy, infrastructure, or large corporate clients will be an advantage.

The Trilegal Tax Practice provides comprehensive legal services across domestic and international tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, tax disputes, and cross-border transactions. The team advises multinational corporations, financial institutions, and high-net-worth individuals on tax-efficient structures, regulatory compliance, and strategic tax planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide income tax and stamp duty advice for complex transactions.
  • Advise on corporate restructures, asset sales, and large M&A deals.
  • Conduct tax due diligence and identify stamp duty risks.
  • Draft and review transaction documentation in compliance with tax laws.
  • Liaise with State and Territory revenue authorities on rulings, exemptions, and disputes.
  • Track legislative changes in tax laws and provide strategic insights.
  • Collaborate with corporate, finance, project, and property teams to deliver integrated legal solutions.

Qualifications & Key Skills

  • Experience in structured debt, securitisation, asset-backed financing, and structured finance.
  • Strong legal drafting and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex transactions from start to completion.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and client-focused approach.
  • Experience working in multi-jurisdictional and cross-practice teams.
  • Interest in business development and client relationship management.
