About the Role
Coonen Law is looking for an Estate Planning & Probate Attorney to join its growing team. The firm’s caseload has doubled year-over-year, and this role offers meaningful, client-facing legal work rather than routine document processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead client consultations with clarity and empathy
- Design and draft tailored, comprehensive estate plans
- Guide families through probate and trust administration, including court representation for probate, guardianships, and conservatorships
- Manage client files, deadlines, and case outcomes independently
- Stay current on evolving estate and tax laws
Requirements
- Active member of the Michigan Bar in good standing
- 2 to 5+ years of experience in estate planning, probate law, or business planning
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills
- Ability to meet firm-established minimum billing requirements while maintaining high-quality work
- Self-starter mindset with strong attention to detail
