Ice Miller LLP, a nationally recognized mid-size firm, is looking for a senior-level Real Estate Associate to join its Real Estate Practice Group. This opportunity spans six offices — New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Indianapolis, and Philadelphia — and offers hands-on exposure to high-value, complex real estate and business transactions.

Experience Required

5–8 years (Senior Associate level)

Salary Range

  • New York: $315,000 – $375,000
  • Chicago & Philadelphia: $245,000 – $297,000
  • Cleveland, Columbus & Indianapolis: $207,000 – $235,000

(Plus discretionary and hours-based bonus opportunities)

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate real estate purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and related documents
  • Lead the real estate components of private equity, independent sponsor, and M&A transactions
  • Manage sophisticated real estate deals end-to-end — from term sheet through closing
  • Conduct due diligence, including title and survey review
  • Handle real estate matters for development projects, joint ventures, and PE-backed transactions
  • Assist with structuring and documenting mortgage loans, construction loans, bridge financing, and mezzanine debt
  • Collaborate with corporate, finance, and tax teams for integrated deal execution

Eligibility & Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academics
  • 5+ years’ commercial real estate law experience (law firm or in-house)
  • Prior exposure to private equity real estate transactions
  • Strong commercial leasing drafting/negotiation experience
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and organizational skills
  • Active law license in the relevant state
  • Must have permanent U.S. work authorization
