About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or final-stage Patent Attorney looking to build an in-house career in a leading quantum engineering company. In this role, you will use your expertise in software and hardware inventions to manage and expand Riverlane’s growing intellectual property (IP) portfolio.
Working within the Legal & IP team and closely collaborating with research and engineering teams, you will draft and prosecute patents, both internally and with external counsel. Your work will help strengthen Riverlane’s IP protection and competitive advantage in the rapidly evolving quantum computing industry.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded and collaborative Patent Attorney who is eager to learn new technologies and contribute to cutting-edge innovation in quantum computing and deep-tech development.
Qualifications and skills:
- Qualified or part‑qualified UK and/or European patent attorney (support for remaining exams can be provided)
- Experience working with deep‑tech inventions, including hardware and software‑related technologies
- Ability to analyse complex technical systems and identify essential features
- Ability to generate clear, focused, and accurate arguments at legal hearings concerning patents and patent applications
- Proven success working in a fast‑paced environment, delivering across multiple workstreams
- Excellent communicator with strong relationship‑building and interpersonal skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely
- Experience with quantum technologies is preferred but not essential
