🎯 Eligibility Criteria
BIRAC is looking for candidates who possess a unique blend of scientific understanding and legal expertise.
1. Educational Qualifications:
- Post Graduate in Science with an LLB from a recognized institution OR
- ACS / FCS from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
2. Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 02 years of post-qualification experience handling corporate affairs, legal contracts, or intellectual property (IP) tracking within an organization.
- Domain Expertise: Very good knowledge of drafting contracts, Grant Letter Agreements (GLA), contractual obligations, and statutory legal provisions.
3. Desirable Skills:
- Preference will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary expertise in Science and Law, particularly focusing on biotechnology, innovation, Intellectual Property (IP), regulatory affairs, technology transfer, or commercial contracts.
📝 Key Responsibilities & Job Description
The selected Officer (Legal) will work closely with BIRAC’s core legal team to mitigate contractual risks and manage regulatory compliance. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Risk Management: Identifying legal risk exposures and advising management on contractual obligations and internal policies.
- Drafting & Vetting: Preparing and reviewing MoUs, Grant In Aid (GIA), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Intellectual Property Licensing/Assignment Agreements, Collaboration Research Agreements, and Incubation Agreements.
- Due Diligence: Managing the legal due diligence process, reviewing reports, and checking the legal eligibility of entities applying under various government schemes.
- Litigation & Compliance: Amending guidelines for the Project Division and acting/pleading on behalf of BIRAC in a Court of Law as an Advocate when required.
