Key Functions & Responsibilities
As a Legal Manager, you will be responsible for safeguarding the organization’s legal interests, managing court cases, and streamlining documentation. Your core duties will include:
1. Legal Analysis & Documentation
- Analyze complex legal matters and negotiate critical legal documents, including legal notices, corporate contracts, and commercial agreements.
- Assist in drafting Land Due Diligence Reports, Title Search Reports, Term Sheets, Collaboration Agreements, and other transactional documents.
- Draft precise replies to legal notices, pleadings, written statements, and petitions pertaining to civil suits and arbitration proceedings.
2. Litigation Management & Court Representation
- Represent HDB Financial Services in courts of law for both “for” and “against” litigation matters.
- Coordinate and manage ongoing litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes.
- Provide necessary documentation, information, and strategic assistance to the company’s legal panel.
3. Recovery & Field Operations
- Ensure swift legal steps for fast legal relief and recovery regarding written-off (w-off) accounts and loss-on-sale pools.
- Visit delinquent customers and legal firms regularly to expedite the recovery process and resolve pending legal disputes.
4. MIS & Compliance
- Maintain absolute responsibility for the documentation and procedural adherence of all legal matters.
- Compile, update, and publish comprehensive Legal Management Information Systems (MIS) reports for senior management.
Candidate Eligibility & Skills
Mandatory Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Professional Enrollment: Active enrollment with the Bar Council is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of core experience in the legal field (preferably with banks, NBFCs, or reputed law firms handling financial litigation).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a pleasing professional personality.
- Attributes: High level of self-drive, enthusiasm, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Desired Skills:
- Proficient exposure to and deep knowledge of Indian legal processes, banking laws, SARFAESI Act, Section 138 of the NI Act, and arbitration proceedings.
