Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit
- Candidates must not be more than 26 years of age as of July 20, 2026.
- Candidates born after July 20, 2008, are not eligible.
2. Educational Qualification
- Law Graduates: Must be a fresh law graduate with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA) from any UGC-recognized University/Institution.
- Final Year Students: Law students in their final year (3-year or 5-year integrated LL.B.) are eligible to apply, provided they pass with 55% marks before their final appointment.
- Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computer operations/applications is mandatory.
- Language: Candidate must be acquainted with the vernacular language (Gujarati).
Note for Existing Staff: Current Legal Assistants who have already completed 11 months or more under previous processes are not eligible to apply.
Scheme of Examination
The selection process comprises a two-stage examination:
Stage 1: Written Test (Objective Type – MCQs) | 100 Marks
- Mode: OMR-based offline test conducted at Ahmedabad.
- Duration: 2 Hours.
- Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (1 Mark each).
- Negative Marking: 0.25 mark will be deducted for every wrong or multiple answer.
- Medium of Exam: English.
- Qualifying Marks: Minimum 50% marks are required to qualify for the next round.

- Full-Time Role: This is a full-time assignment. You cannot practice as an advocate or take up any other part-time/full-time job during your tenure.
- Leaves: Entitled to 11 days of casual leave per year.
- Post-Tenure Restriction: A Legal Assistant cannot appear before the specific Hon’ble Judge they were attached to for a period of one year after their contract ends. They are also barred from appearing in any specific case they handled during their attachment.
