Role & Key Responsibilities
As a Patent Engineer at Elekta, you will work closely with qualified Patent Attorneys and research & development (R&D) teams to identify, protect, and manage ground-breaking healthcare technology inventions.
Primary Duties:
- Invention Harvesting: Partner with product development teams to capture and evaluate inventions with patent potential.
- Patentability & Novelty Assessments: Assist Patent Attorneys with prior-art searches, invention disclosure reviews, and technical assessments.
- Portfolio Management: Maintain accurate records for Elekta’s global patent portfolio and support continuous portfolio optimization.
- Competitor Intelligence: Track technology trends, monitor competitor IP landscapes, and deliver actionable insights to key stakeholders.
- IP Awareness & Training: Develop guidance materials and deliver IP awareness initiatives across technical units.
Candidate Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: University degree in Science or Engineering (preferably in Electronics, Physics, or Software).
- Experience Level: Recent graduates or early-career professionals with up to 2 years of experience.
- Domain Interest: Proven interest in patents, intellectual property law, technical literature reviews, or technology commercialization.
- Key Skills: Strong technical curiosity, analytical mindset, and effective communication skills to translate complex R&D ideas into patent concepts.
